First story of the new season is that HRT RBRA have picked up Matt Campbell to co-drive with SVG for the Pirtek Enduro cup. I think this has surprised everyone considering how well he drove for Nissan last season and was tipped to be a furure star at Nissan Motorsport.

A new feature for this year is betting, you can opt to bet a percentage or fixed amount of your TSG Points for a bet you think is a sure thing.

Sample bet:
Pole position: Shane Van Gisbergen BET: 300 points


If Van Gisbergen gets pole position, you earn the 100 points plus 300 additional points for the bet. If he does not, you lose your 300 points (all calculations will be made at the end of the enduro season too, so be careful that you may run into negative TSG Points if you bet, and lose, too much).

1. All predictions must be placed by Thursday 11:59pm EDST, at which point the thread will be locked.
   
2. In some cases points will be awarded to the person(s) whose prediction is closest - e.g. if the first safety car comes out on lap 10 and no one predicts this correctly, the next closest prediction will get the points.

Fastest lap time in practice across all sessions (50p):

Which team (ie FPR, Red Bull, Tekno) will be the first to stuff up a pit stop, includes driver stalling the car (30p):
How many ad breaks will there be in the Free-to-air coverage (from the start of the race, to completion of the final lap) - (40p):

Podium positions (name the three teams on the podium in order - must be exact) (300p (100 for each correct answer, 50 if they're on the podiun but in a different position)):

While I am a fan of unpredictable finishes and the unlikely drivers nabbing a win, I thought the fuel drop rule made Sunday's race unfulfilling. Essentially in my eyes, Percat won on a technicality. When the race distance was reduced due to a time certain finish (I'll get back to that) the amount required for the fuel drop should also have been reduced.

As for time certain finishes, the race should start 30min earlier to allow for delays of any sort so we get to see a full race. In some cases delays may go beyond 30min but you would at least get close to the full race distance.

Pretty average effort in the end by race control, and I am not a fan of post race investigations on incidents that are so straightforward as to who is at fault - drive through penalties will more than likely result in the driver who infringed losing more point than what was deducted post race.]]>

So with the great race just a few days away from starting, it is time to start what I hope will be an annual event on the Screwed Gamers/CANZ calendar! The ultimate Bathurst Prediction Competition. Everyone who wishes to participate, will make their predictions on a variety of areas revolving around the Bathurst 1000 this coming weekend. You will earn points for getting predictions correct, in some cases they may be worth more points than others. And just to add some reward for effort, the winner will be awarded the ability to shape one of the 2016 CANZ series. We are yet to announce exactly what choices and influence the winner will have, but will hope to finalise this by Thursday!

In the event of the winner being someone who is not taking part in the CANZ racing in 2016, the prize will go to the highest placed person who is - but obviously the official winner will be crowned the King of Bathurst!
Now a couple of rules:
