Welcome back to TSG in 2017, we hope you all had a safe and happy new year and are now ready to dive back into proceedings!<br />

We're starting 2017 off with an unofficial 2v2 tournament open to Xbox One and PC players. The aim here is to test the waters in cross-play environments surrounding communications when organising events through the use of our Discord server. This competition will also seek to test the viability of running a 2v2 competition over maintaining our previous 3v3 format. There a couple of changes I will outline below but it should be noted the change will only occur should we find the overall competition runs smoother as a 2v2 than it did in its 3v3 format.<br />

For this tournament we won't be running a salary cap as it is not an official tournament but will be making an effort to organise balanced teams internally based off the registrations. Competition length will be determined by the number of registrations and the number of teams we're able to assemble from those registrations. Where possible we'll do our best to ensure players are grouped with players on the same platform though we must emphasise this may not be 100% possible.<br />

Format: 2v2 Round Robin with elimination finals<br />
Number of teams: To be determined<br />
Matchplay format: 2-weeks-on-1-week-off, week break before finals<br />

The draft system (which will be explained below) is the biggest change to Season II, after the less than successful "trade period" last season we've mixed things up a bit. In the coming days the captains will come together and hold a one-night draft to organise their teams. Salary caps have also been increased to &#36;1.2 million for Season II.<br />

Salary for all players will be as they finished in Season I with the exception of the following players:<br />

In order for these players to find homes at any teams during our trial drafts over the last week we've had to cap their salary to &#36;650,000 AND increase team salary caps to &#36;1.2 million (so stop playing so damn well!) in order for them to be picked up and still allow other teams to fill their rosters without going over the cap. Had we not made these changes the above players would not have found a team able to fit them into their roster (unless they wanted to play as a team of two).<br />

			<description><![CDATA[As part of our mission to attract more players to our Soccar Championships, ideally between and sometimes during a season, where we have some free nights (doesn't have to be a Tuesday or Thursday necessarily) it would be good to setup an appropriate number of private matches where players can drop in and out for some freindly social matches in Standard.<br />

Eg. If we have 12 people online keen to play some rocket league then we have two lobbies of six. Teams can be selected randomly within the lobbies and after perhaps a best of 5, two or three players can swap to the second lobby so there is good opportunity to play with and against more people.<br />
<br />
In the instance there might be say 10 people wanting to play, setu a lobby for 3v3 and the other as 2v2. The main thing is to increase the social interaction with each other so that players can be more comfortabe with the prospect of teaming up with different players in the league under a draft selection system.<br />
<br />
That all said, this thread is here to nominate nights as they become available for such game nights.<br />

Just a little update to keep you guys up to speed on planning for Season II. So far we've got a few ideas down for how we'll work the system for the next season, however to test the ideas we need to start getting numbers together so we have an idea of who's playing and who's interested in captaincy, so we can trial our ideas and see which one works best. The form has three options this time:<br />

Gamertag - Speaks for itself<br />
Self Skill Appraisal - Where you can select a tier <span style="font-style: italic;" class="mycode_i">you <span style="text-decoration: underline;" class="mycode_u">think</span></span> you play at<br />
Captaincy Interest - Whether you are interested in captaincy opportunities or not. Answering yes to this does not guarantee you will be a captain, just whether you may be interested should we need more captains.<br />

At the following link you'll find the registration form for Season II, below that I'll outline our ideas that we'll be trialling over the coming weeks once we get some idea of numbers.<br />

Firstly, and probably most importantly, as we've already acknowledged previously Season I's format was not a very good idea. Teams were hastily thrown together with little to no communication between captains (and some players) regarding who was playing with who and how salary caps worked. So we've scrapped that idea and will be looking at two alternatives which I will outline for your input now.<br />
<br />
<span style="font-weight: bold;" class="mycode_b">Option A: Standard Draft</span><br />
<br />
A standard draft would see all captains jump into a party chat (or online chatroom should any PC players with no access to Xbox Live sign up we'll need to organise an alternative, cross that bridge if we come to it though) and cycle through the player list starting from the last placed team to finish the previous championship to the top picking one player each. After each team has made their first selection, the process repeats from the bottom, and proceeds to the top until all players are rostered to teams. The remaining players will become substitute options.<br />

An example from Season I's results would see the selections taking place as follows:<br />

After a successful pre-season the real business kicks off at the start of August, and if our pre-season was any indication we're in for a corker of a first season. Many of the players and teams from the pre-season are expected to return, some with new line ups or joining new teams, but still with the same fire to burn up the pitch.<br />
<br />
<span style="font-style: italic;" class="mycode_i">What's new in Season I?</span><br />
This season we're introducing the salary cap. As previously indicated all players now have a player value, team captains will need to pick a team that fits within the salary cap at the start of the season (prices will fluctuate as the season progresses). All information relating to the salary cap can be found in the rules below.<br />
<br />
Captains will be given a week to choose to relinquish captaincy should they no longer wish to lead their team, at which point all players will be released into the transfer pool. It will be the responsibility of the captains to find players for their team, be it through approaching players or being approached. Anyone who took part in pre-season playing three or more complete games, or took part in BYOT I, is eligible to become a captain. The transfer window will open on the 20th to give captains enough time to get themselves organised and have a chance to look through the current player values.<br />

After a successful pre-season the real business kicks off at the start of August, and if our pre-season was any indication we're in for a corker of a first season. Many of the players and teams from the pre-season are expected to return, some with new line ups or joining new teams, but still with the same fire to burn up the pitch.<br />
<br />
<span style="font-style: italic;" class="mycode_i">What's new in Season I?</span><br />
This season we're introducing the salary cap. As previously indicated all players now have a player value, team captains will need to pick a team that fits within the salary cap at the start of the season (prices will fluctuate as the season progresses). All information relating to the salary cap can be found in the rules below.<br />
<br />
Captains will be given a week to choose to relinquish captaincy should they no longer wish to lead their team, at which point all players will be released into the transfer pool. It will be the responsibility of the captains to find players for their team, be it through approaching players or being approached. Anyone who took part in pre-season playing three or more complete games, or took part in BYOT I, is eligible to become a captain. The transfer window will open on the 20th to give captains enough time to get themselves organised and have a chance to look through the current player values.<br />

Should a team need to reschedule a game due to two or more players being unavailable (including the substitute), it will be up to the captains of both teams to organise a night to reschedule the match provided it is rescheduled before the next round is due to take place. If a reschedule is not able to organised by this point the team that was unable to field their team at the initial game will be given a forfeit.<br />

Should a game-wide issue cause games to be unable to be played the round may be rescheduled.<br />
