Round 2, Zhuhai International, Stewards Briefing
March 17th, 2016
Teams and drivers are advised of the following information contained within:
Qualifying Procedure
Starting Procedure
Pit Entry and Exit
All information contained in this stewards briefing is created with the purpose of ensuring we have stable events, so CANZ administrators appreciate that everyone follows this information along with adhering to the CANZ sporting regulations.
Qualifying Procedure:
For the Sportscar Championship Series (SCS) we will be splitting qualifying for GT and LMP vehicles into two groups. The session will be set to 30 minutes, GT cars will qualify in the first 15 minutes of the session, after 15 minutes are up they must complete the lap they are on and then return to pit lane (driver MUST drive back to pits, do not jump back to pit lane). LMP's will have 10 minutes from the 16 minute mark. At 26 minutes they must complete the lap they are on and then drive back to pit lane. In the last four minutes take note of who qualified ahead of you in your class as you will be starting behind them.
Always keep note of who has qualified ahead of you in your class so you know who to start behind at the start of the race. It is your responsibility to keep note of this otherwise you may need to start from the back of the field.
Starting Procedure:
The first lap of the race will be consumed for the rolling start to allow runners to get into their positions in LMP/GT groups (having previously noted who they are to start behind), the LMP field will lead the group at a safe speed around the installation lap and will form into 2x2 out of the last corner for the race start and reduce speed to 60kph to group the field up.
The pole position driver will control the field, the circuit will be considered green past the start of the pit wall along the right side of the circuit and the pole position driver may chose to start the race at any point between the pit wall starting and the start/finish line, at this point the race will start regardless of if the pole position driver has accellerated or not.
Pit Entry and Exit:
Pit entry must be communicated with surrounding drivers early. Avoid touching the grass between the track and the pit entry as grass is known to reduce grip.
On pit exit, communicate clearly that you are exiting and ensure that you stay to the right if other traffic is in the area as the first corner is a tight right hander with cars exiting close to the apex of the first turn.
Thanks guys, have a good race!

Drivers and team managers are reminded that excessive language in response to questions may result in sanctions. Please respect our community's members as per the rules and regulations. Thank you.
Some basic questions (feel free to come up with some questions of your own though if you like):
How was your race today?
What was the team's plan coming into today's race?
What are some things the team are looking at moving forward?
What was your highlight of the race?
Did you generally like (circuit name) or feel as though a better circuit could be run? If so, which circuit?
What are you looking forward to most about the next race?

Round 1, Silverstone, Stewards Briefing
March 10th, 2016
Teams and drivers are advised of the following information contained within:
Qualifying Procedure
Starting Procedure
Pit Entry and Exit
All information contained in this stewards briefing is created with the purpose of ensuring we have stable events, so CANZ administrators appreciate that everyone follows this information along with adhering to the CANZ sporting regulations.
Qualifying Procedure:
Qualifying for Round 1 of the CANZ V8 Supercars series will be a timed session of 15 minutes. No shootout session or group split will be required for this circuit. Please spread yourselves out on circuit to avoid dirtying others laps through drafting.
Starting Procedure:
For the first race, a standard start will be used. Should a reverse grid race be run, a standing manual start will be used to set grid positions.
Pit Entry and Exit:
Please observe the following images:
For pit entry, please communicate and ensure that you are over to the right hand side of the circuit before the white control line to clearly indicate that you are entering the pits. Follow the general direction of that rather prominent tyre mark if in doubt. As always you cannot pit at the end of the first lap unless you have damage, and you must not pit on the last lap and finish the race in the pit lane.
For pit exit, remember to commincate that you are exiting the pits as you are coming up hill from a covered position so on-track drivers may not see you exiting. Attempt to stay to the right as you exit so the racing line is clear for fast traffic. Battling into turn 3 is allowed if you feel you can hold the position with cold tyres.
Any questions, pop them below, otherwise I'll see you all tomorrow night and let's have a good race to start the season!

Although there has been a fair bit of discussion around Clipsal on the chat group, I wanted to post some thoughts on it here;
While I am a fan of unpredictable finishes and the unlikely drivers nabbing a win, I thought the fuel drop rule made Sunday's race unfulfilling. Essentially in my eyes, Percat won on a technicality. When the race distance was reduced due to a time certain finish (I'll get back to that) the amount required for the fuel drop should also have been reduced.
As for time certain finishes, the race should start 30min earlier to allow for delays of any sort so we get to see a full race. In some cases delays may go beyond 30min but you would at least get close to the full race distance.
Pretty average effort in the end by race control, and I am not a fan of post race investigations on incidents that are so straightforward as to who is at fault - drive through penalties will more than likely result in the driver who infringed losing more point than what was deducted post race.

Round 1, Road America, Stewards Briefing
February 25th, 2016
Teams and drivers are advised of the following information contained within:
Qualifying Procedure
Starting Procedure
Pit Entry and Exit
All information contained in this stewards briefing is created with the purpose of ensuring we have stable events, so CANZ administrators appreciate that everyone follows this information along with adhering to the CANZ sporting regulations.
Qualifying Procedure:
For the Sportscar Championship Series (SCS) we will be splitting qualifying for GT and LMP vehicles into two groups. GT cars will qualifying during practice 2 and LMP vehicles will qualify during the Qualifying session. This is to ensure that LMP vehicles always start ahead of GT vehicles even in the event of slower lap times. During practice 2 no LMP vehicles are to take to the track (read: exit the pit lane, fixing the spectate button by "going to track" then going to "back to pits" while still in the pitlane is allowed). During qualifying no GT cars may take to the track (same as before). In the event a vehicle (or vehicles) enter the circuit when they are not supposed to penalties may be applied.
The session will be set to 30 minutes, but only 20 minutes of the session will be used, the remaining time will be for drivers to finish their current laps before skipping to the end of the session.
Always keep note of who has qualified ahead of you so you know who to start behind at the start of the race. It is your responsibility to keep note of this otherwise you may need to start from the back of the field.
Starting Procedure:
The first lap of the race will be consumed for the rolling start to allow GT runners to get into their positions (having previously noted who they are to start behind), the LMP field will lead the group at a safe speed (90-100kph) around the installation lap and will form into 2x2 out of the last corner for the race start and reduce speed to 60kph to group the field up. The pole position for this round will be on the right.
The pole position driver will control their respective field, and may make the decision to start the race at any point past the start of the pit wall along the right side of the circuit until the start line, at which point the race will start regardless.
Pit Entry and Exit:
In the event the pit lane is required pit entry must be communicated with surrounding drivers early. Avoid touching the grass between the track and the pit entry as grass is known to reduce grip.
On pit exit, communicate clearly that you are exiting and ensure that you stay to the right if other traffic is in the area.
Thanks guys, have a good race!
(Next one will be better because I'll prepare it sooner than race day!)

[Forza Motorsport] Number Boxes and CANZ Vinyls |

Hey guys,
This thread is for the purpose of outlining the Forza number boxes for CANZ regulated series. If you are running in a CANZ series on Forza, these are required. Positioning may be overridden by series organisers, but in the event they are not, all positions offered in this thread MUST be adhered to (there are a few options), car regulation penalties may apply if positioned incorrectly.
Acquiring the Number Boxes:
You can acquire the number boxes simply by searching for the creator, which is me (Scav3nger), I haven't made much so CANZ related material should be easy to find in my creations. Alternatively you can search for the keyword "CANZ" and it should return the following:
A monotone logo is included should you wish to rock the CANZ logo anywhere on your vehicle, and it's also easy to trace should you need to copy it for design sharing. I have no need for the credits and would give it away (unlocked) for free if I could so trace away!
Positioning the box(es):
When it comes to positions for the number boxes, you have three options though they don't have to be 100% adhered to. The small box under the wing mirror or on the front of the forward-most door, the small box at the front of the rear-most door, or using the large number box at the front of the forward-most door. Some series may support less positions and would be factored into in the specific regulations. Here's a sample on a V8 Supercar:
On the top-side you may position your numberbox rearwards of the top, or on the hood (size is optional but not much smaller than pictured to keep it readible at a distance)
When using the large number box, you may use any colour for the number(s) provided it is easily readible (please, no fluro green or patterns/fill, gradients are allowed provided they are readible). For the smaller boxes, you may use white or yellow as pictured in the side view. With all number boxes you must use the box provided and not alter it in any way. This is a CANZ-wide requirement for consistent number box design across all cars. This is our promotional material, the only one we will ever force on our drivers, your coorporation in adhering to these requirements is appreciated.
Gamertag Plate:
The gamertag plate is back again to help set your name out from your outlandish liveries. Remember that your 'tag is required front and back, but the plate is not required unless it is deemed to be difficult to read your gamertag.
If you have any questions, post them up and happy painting!
