How Screwed Gamers Points work for CANZ |

It's been a few days since announcing the addition of Screwed Gamers Points, and since the majority of their use at the moment is going to come from CANZ it should be outlined exactly how they are going to be used for the Racing Community.
For every series you enter, the points you earn for racing are added to your points bank in an end of series payout, this goes along with your points for replying, creating threads, and voting in polls. Points will also be earned for taking part in social nights. Team points are tracked in the CANZ database. In future we'll be adding features that will enhance the extra-racing aspect within the community, but rest assured we'll get everyone's input before implementing anything major. To start with, we've already outlined in the regulations that it will cost points to form a team within CANZ but hadn't previously put a price on the creation, team formation costs will occur as follows:
Single driver creation - If a single driver is creating a new team, it will cost the driver 2,000 points from their points bank, drivers can join existing teams and take part in social nights to amass the points necessary or can share in a dual driver creation.
Dual driver creation - If two drivers are creating a new team, it will cost each driver 1,000 points from their points bank. Sharing the cost across two drivers lowers the amount necessary to form the new team, and also fills the line up.
The forums "donations" system allows for members with points to essentially fund another members actions. Say, for example, you introduce a friend to CANZ and both take part in a social night, you can donate the points earned to your friend to help them get a kickstart in their CANZ career.
Current point distribution:
Race meet for drivers: Points equal to those earned as per CANZ points system paid in full at the end of a season (250 for 1st place, 200 for 2nd, and so on)
Race meet for teams: Combined total of competing driver(s) added to team points bank.
Social night: 500 points, bonus 250 for introducing a friend to CANZ
Championship Bonus: 1st place in drivers championship title earns a bonus 1,000 points
Championship Bonus: 1st place in teams/constructors title earns both drivers 500 points each and the team a bonus 1,000 points for the team bank
If a series runs awards for pole positions and/or fastest laps those points will also be paid out at the end of the season.

Hey everyone,
New addition to the forums, we've added a points system we're calling Screwed Gamers Points (SGP's) in accordance with a CANZ regulation that is going to be implemented in different ways across the forums. At the moment it is only related to CANZ, but we will probably find uses for it in other areas in the future, so start banking those points!
Here's how you can earn:
50 points for registering
10 points for each post
20 points for each thread created
10 points for every poll created
5 points for every poll you vote on
5 points for every reply made in a thread you've created
10 points for every thread rated
1 point for every page view
100 points per referral, bring a friend and earn points!
View the current leaderboard here: http://screwedgamers.com/forums/newpoint...tion=stats
Happy Banking!

Alrighty!
So with the great race just a few days away from starting, it is time to start what I hope will be an annual event on the Screwed Gamers/CANZ calendar! The ultimate Bathurst Prediction Competition. Everyone who wishes to participate, will make their predictions on a variety of areas revolving around the Bathurst 1000 this coming weekend. You will earn points for getting predictions correct, in some cases they may be worth more points than others. And just to add some reward for effort, the winner will be awarded the ability to shape one of the 2016 CANZ series. We are yet to announce exactly what choices and influence the winner will have, but will hope to finalise this by Thursday!
In the event of the winner being someone who is not taking part in the CANZ racing in 2016, the prize will go to the highest placed person who is - but obviously the official winner will be crowned the King of Bathurst!
Now a couple of rules:
- All predictions must be placed between Wednesday 11:30pm EDST and Thursday 11:59pm EDST, at which point the thread will be locked.
- Between now and Wednesday 11pm EDST, we have the ability to add more prediction areas in case you think of something I haven't. Hence why no one can submit predictions until 11:30pm tomorrow night. All suggestions will be removed from the thread to keep it clean and easy for myself to check back through after Sunday evening.
- In some cases points will be awarded to the person(s) whose prediction is closest - e.g. if the first safety car comes out on lap 10 and no one predicts this correctly, the next closest prediction will get the points.
So without further ado, below are the areas where you can provide your predictions. The points each prediction is worth is listed in brackets. Please post below ASAP with additional prediction areas ASAP!
QUALIFYING & PRACTICE:
Pole position (3p):
Last place (5p):
Fastest lap time in practice across all sessions (2p):
RACE:
What lap will the first safety car appear on (not including a start under the safety car) (4p):
Who will be involved in the first crash (can be a single car crash) (5p):
How many Safety Cars will occur across the whole race (5p):
Who will set the fastest lap of the race (3p):
How long will the race run for (hours and minutes) (3p):
Who will be the first to retire from the race (3p):
How many DNF's will there be (4p):
Which team (ie FPR, Red Bull, Tekno) will be the first to stuff up a pit stop, includes driver stalling the car (6p):
How many laps will the "all girls" team last (5p):
How many ad breaks will there be in the Free-to-air coverage (from the start of the race, to completion of the final lap) - (3p):
Will the SuperBlack entry achieve a better result than last year? (1p): Yes/No
Who will win (5p):
Podium positions (name the three teams on the podium in order - must be exact) (10p):
Any more just post below!

Game title focus |

I doubt this will work, but I wonder what thoughts everyone has towards trying to narrow down the game titles we would all play together within the community as far as gaming nights go?
So rather than spread ourselves across 5-8 different titles, we have more regular sessions on 1-3 (outside of our racing).
I feel that I want to keep going with GTA V and then depending on if the games are good enough, Halo 5 and Star Wars Battlefront.....
But what are the most popular titles within the community? FIFA is up there, but I can't see myself buying a new version of it every year.
Any other games I like, I would play either by myself, or organise to play with one or two others on nights other than Thursday's.
That all said, perhaps it is a case of letting things take shape itself....

Forza 6 v Pcars - settings and options |

Just wanted to get some discussion going on what the available settings are for both games when it comes to lobbies and series formats. In particular where there is a lack of options, what thoughts are there on how to overcome them?
This probably is more relevant to FM6 as we have been using Pcars for a while now, but would be good to capture info on both and perhaps create a section in the regulations that helps potential series organisers when working out formats etc.
We might look to include a list of all options available in game too
So off the top of my head there are the following points:
Qualifying and all associated issues around this
Race restarts
Manual starts
Pit stops and strategy
Series regulations (eg limited fuel) and how to enforce them
Stewarding options
So provide your thoughts and then we can capture all the good stuff so everyone can easily access the info (save trawling through this thread for it)
To get the ball rolling, Pcars has some bugs still with regards to pit strategies actually performing as desired, so do we run series on this game with less regulations, just compulsory pit stops with no requirement to change tires or add fuel?
We seem to have established a method of combatting restarts with Pcars using the safety car.....
Without knowing too much about FM6 settings yet, Pcars seems to be the game to use if you want to do proper qualifying and avoid manual starts....top ten shootouts felt great in Pcars, especially because you could watch the other players do hot laps.

Hi all,
This thread is the thread we'll be using for drivers to register their driver number for use in CANZ licensed events and series. You are free to change your number, as long as it not within 12 months of a previous number change or attempting to change to a number that is already in use by another driver. If you change your number, you must complete any active series started with your existing driver number.
Please note: leading 0's do not constitute a separate number. #013 is the same as #13, #007 is the same a #07 and #7.
Currently registered numbers:
#0 - Reserved for statsAdmin.
#1 - Reserved for series defending champion.
#2 - MRN3Drifter
#4 - UnusedDragon488
#7 - Chaos 7h30ry

Just on the off chance we have some new people joining us, I was previously the director of RGL Australia and due to real life commitments, have had to reduce my time spent managing a gaming league/community. So here I am, part of the admin team at Screwed Gamers. I hope this new era provides new and old community members alike, with a fresh start and renewed energy for gaming together, whether it be part of CANZ, playing Halo 5 in the near future or descending Mount Chiliad in GTA V.

CANZ Series Template |

Hey all,
Below you'll find the template that should be used to give drivers all the details of the series you are planning so they can make informed decisions about whether it is a series they are interested in or not. While we offer the opportunity for everyone to open a series idea, we must stress that not all series can be run all at once, so some organisers may unfortunately miss out. To gauge interest in your idea, we recommend starting an Expression of Interest (EOI) thread prior to spending too much time putting together all the details found in the template below.
EOI's are to be used to scope interest in an idea, so you don't need the full gamut of information, but you should have a rock solid idea behind you so the community know what to expect (if it is too vague and results in confusion or excessive questions, go back and do some more work on it and start again - hopefully taking on board the questions and suggestions given by the community)
Official proposals are used to begin locking in registrations and as mentioned, if the series is popular enough (more than 8 drivers) then it will receive CANZ support via web pages etc. These threads must provide full information. You can still make some minor adjustments such as changing a track due to majority of community members requesting it, or dropping a round to shorten the season etc. But by and large, rules should be sorted, cars locked in etc.
Any questions on this post below, but for now here is the Official Series Template - just copy and paste into a new thread in the appropriate section and fill out the areas currently in light grey. The title of your thread should be: CANZ "your series name" [Official thread].
Please note: You must private message your Series thread through to the CANZ directors before posting your series to ensure all bases are covered. You do not need to PM expression of interest threads.

For this stage of the process, community members only need to know number of rounds and tracks. Other information such as dates and what night a series takes place will be included in the "General Information" section
Pit stops:
Select from (see rule book): Long window/Short window - avoid deviating from this format with exception of endurance races that may require additional pit stops during a race. Series don't have to have mandatory pit stops
Registration:
Use this section to keep track of registrations and watch the thread for new posts to keep the list as up to date as possible.
