[SCS] Stewards Briefing - Round 4
Posted by: Scav3nger - 04-28-2016, 07:36 AM - Forum: CANZ Stewarding Centre - No Replies

Round 4, Silverstone, Stewards Briefing
April 28th, 2016

Teams and drivers are advised of the following information contained within:
Qualifying Procedure
Starting Procedure

Pit Entry and Exit

All information contained in this stewards briefing is created with the purpose of ensuring we have stable events, so CANZ administrators appreciate that everyone follows this information along with adhering to the CANZ sporting regulations.

Qualifying Procedure:
For the Sportscar Championship Series (SCS) we will be splitting qualifying for GT and LMP vehicles into two groups. The session will be set to 30 minutes, GT cars will qualify in the first 15 minutes of the session, after 15 minutes are up they must complete the lap they are on and then return to pit lane (driver MUST drive back to pits, do not jump back to pit lane). LMP's will have 10 minutes from the 16 minute mark. At 26 minutes they must complete the lap they are on and then drive back to pit lane. In the last four minutes take note of who qualified ahead of you in your class as you will be starting behind them.

Always keep note of who has qualified ahead of you in your class so you know who to start behind at the start of the race. It is your responsibility to keep note of this otherwise you may need to start from the back of the field.

Starting Procedure:
The first lap of the race will be consumed for the rolling start to allow runners to get into their positions in LMP/GT groups (having previously noted who they are to start behind), the LMP field will lead the group at a safe speed around the installation lap and will form into 2x2 out of the last corner for the race start and reduce speed to 60kph to group the field up.

The pole position driver will control the field, the circuit will be considered green out of the last corner of the circuit and the pole position driver may chose to start the race at any point between the exit of the last corner and the start/finish line, at this point the race will start regardless of if the pole position driver has accellerated or not.

Pit Entry and Exit:
As always pit entry must be communicated with surrounding drivers early to ensure no incidents arise as a result of a vehicle heading into pit lane.

On pit exit, communicate clearly that you are exiting and ensure that you stay to the right if other traffic is in the area as turn 3 is a tight right hander.

Thanks guys, have a good race!

  Forum Downtime Noticeboard
Posted by: Scav3nger - 04-23-2016, 04:11 AM - Forum: Administration News - No Replies

Hey all,

This thread will just let you guys know when we're planning on doing any maintenance that will require the forums being offline/down for a while. A new response will be added each time downtime is planned so you get a heads up.

The forums will be offline tomorrow (Sunday 23/04/16) while I update to the latest version of MyBB, I expect this will only be a short down time of no more than 15 minutes.

TSG Rocket League Match Day Rules
Posted by: z00lu - 04-18-2016, 12:49 PM - Forum: Rocket League - No Replies

While we work on the rules and setting up a proper format for them on the website, I thought a thread here would be ideal for quick reference while we play through the Pre-Season Cup.
These rules are purely for match day, not for anything such as salary caps, drafts etc

**So again these rules are a work in progress, but must be adhered to for the duration of the Pre-Season Cup unless notified of changes by admins.

Match (mutator) settings:

Match Length: 10min
Max Score: Unlimited
Boost Strength: 1x
Respawn Time: 3 seconds

All other settings to default.

Chat/Communication:

  1. Teams may decide if they want to play matches with all players (including opposing team) in the same party, or to have separate parties.
  2. In the event of teams using their own party chat, the captain of the 'away' team must join the 'home' teams party to organise the match to be played.
  3. Parties should be set to invite only (recommended).
  4. If a match is being spectated by an admin (possibly for match recording for You Tube), it is the responsibility of the captain of the 'home' team to communicate and invite the admin to the game and party chat.
Player disconnected:

  1. If a player is disconnected during a match before the first 5 minutes has lapsed, their team can return to their goals to signal to the other team that play must stop until either their missing team mate rejoins, or 60 seconds has lapsed. After which play must recommence.
  2. If the 60 second rule is invoked, during this period, the unaffected team (still with 3 players in the match) will position the ball at their end and they will recommence play with possession of the ball.
  3. The team whose player disconnected may not move their vehicles from their goals or spawn point until the opposing team takes possession of the ball (starts hitting the ball).
  4. If a player disconnects after the first 5 minutes has lapsed, the game will continue regardless and it is up to that player to rejoin as soon as possible.
Captain responsibilities:

  1. Captain of the 'home' team is responsible for creating a private match, including the name and password. This information must be given to the captain of the opposing team and to both administrators (z00lu and Scav3nger). A message via XBL should be sufficient. If there are plans to capture/record a match, admins must be provided this information 5 minutes ahead of the match.
  2. Coordinate with opposing captains to organise match start times, and report any issues to admins as soon as possible
  3. Ensure a screen shot of end of match results is captured and is sent to z00lu via a message on XBL.
  4. Organise players and ensure a full team is fielded for every round.
  5. Communicate with admins if there are any issues with fielding a full team ASAP, so that decisions can be made to try and ensure all matches a played with full teams.
  6. Ensure all players are competing in a respectful and courteous manner.

  WEC 2016
Posted by: Scav3nger - 04-17-2016, 11:14 AM - Forum: General Motorsport - Replies (10)

The 2016 WEC season kicks off today (17th of April) in the UK. Round one is held at Silverstone and last years season opener gave us a ding dong battle between the Audi and Porsche and a GT fight that lasted right up until the checkered flag.

The 2016 Calendar is as follows:
6 Hours of Silverstone
GBR
17/04/2016

WEC 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps
BEL
07/05/2016

24 Hours of Le Mans
FRA
18/06/2016

6 Hours of Nürburgring
DEU
24/07/2016

6 Hours of Mexico
MEX
03/09/2016

6 Hours of Circuit of The Americas
USA
17/09/2016

6 Hours of Fuji
JPN
16/10/2016

6 Hours of Shanghai
CHN
06/11/2016

6 Hours of Bahrain
BHR
19/11/2016

Not a lot big changes in the driver line ups from last year. Koboyashi joins the Toyota outfit but Audi and Porsche are running the same lineup. Interested to see how the Ford GT goes as well as how Manor WEC perform in LMP2.

  Player profiles
Posted by: z00lu - 04-15-2016, 04:22 AM - Forum: Rocket League - Replies (14)

Some of you have already provided this information, so all the new people here please respond in this thread with the following information:

Preferred position:
Team number: (for those in CANZ I am using your numbers from there)
Favourite vehicle:
Favourite boost trail:

Positions are:

Defender - a goalie of sorts who spends most time as the backline in defence
Sweeper - supports the Defender while taking the ball into attack from defence
Midfielder - lurks in the midfield going both ways to support defence and look for opportunities to setup shots or take them
Striker - name says it all, attack attack attack

This will help with player profile creation on the website, as well as for any possible match replays with commentary, produced during the season.

It is likely that a formal registration form will be created ahead of the first full season that everyone will need to fill out, but for now, this will do.

If you don't provide me with this info, you don't get a profile page. Your stats will be tracked in the background.

  Stewards report - Round 2, V8 Supercars
Posted by: z00lu - 04-15-2016, 04:11 AM - Forum: CANZ Stewarding Centre - No Replies

The stewards have observed the single incident submission involving cars 2 and 55, from race 2 of the round. Below are the findings:

Based on footage, it was determined that car 2 was far enough alongside car 55 heading into turn four, and communication was evident.

Contact was made and secondary contact resulted in car 55 losing control.

As car 2 did not perform an illegal pass, this has been deemed a racing incident.

If any drivers wish to discuss this further, please contact myself and/or Scav3nger via Pm.

  TSG Rocket League draft concept
Posted by: z00lu - 04-14-2016, 12:42 AM - Forum: Rocket League - Replies (2)

With the 2016 Pre-season Cup underway, I want to open up discussions about team salary caps and drafts. The concept is to see some level of fairness in the skill level of the teams involved, to avoid the best players stacking to one team and forever dominating any competitions being run. The hope is that this will also add further depth to the game with game day strategies and recruiting prowess coming to the fore.

While we can't determine what the salary cap will be as yet, we will be working on making it low enough so that generally each team can only afford one high level player, or two mid level. Either way it is unlikely you will be able to pick exactly who you want if they are good performers.

There are some rules being drawn up in regards to drafts and team selection, but for now, I would like to hear more from anyone taking part, and pointing out any issues you may see with a system like this, such as potential loop holes, players being selected by a captain/coach that they would struggle playing with/for.

Any ideas and suggestions welcome so that we can cover off on them with rules and tweaks to the system. It may take until later this year when we have completed two seasons in order to get it right, but starting off in a good position is best.

To help kick start here are some ideas I am floating around this space:

  • Introduction of proper registration forms (not relying on forum posts for this) that will enable us to capture more information about players
  • Registration forms would include a section for players to request a preferred team/captain and/or players they would want to join
  • At the completion of each season players can request to stay with a team, otherwise they enter the draft pool
  • Lowest finishing sides from the home and away season play off for additional salary cap space while top teams compete in a finals series
  • All new players recruited will be worth the set minimum value (yet to be determined).
You can only captain a team (this includes taking on any of the available franchises as a new team) if you have played a minimum of 4 matches. While this isn't directly part of drafts and salary caps it does have an affect on proceedings.

Things to cover off on are rules around subs and what happens if a player quits the competition - I feel any player that does so cannot return until at least the end of that season.

Over to those who wish to have a say:

  Rocket League Game Night
Posted by: z00lu - 04-11-2016, 03:42 AM - Forum: Rocket League - Replies (8)

As much of a social night as it is a mission, this Thursday, I'll be inviting the first six lucky responders to a friendly match or two of Rocket League, where I will be spectating, capturing and commentating.

The idea is to produce a replay video for the TSG YouTube channel to help promote our upcoming season as well as practice making them, and learning to commentate matches. Much different to a Forza replay that is pre recorded!

As mentioned the first six replies to this post will get the details for joining the matches. If there are more than six, we may sub a few people in and out, or get them to wait until we move to a 4v4 match or two.

BUT! When you reply, please provide the following information:

Favourite/preferred position - choices are: Defender, Sweeper, midfield and Striker
Favourite vehicle
Favourite rocket trail

(Just gives me something additional to talk about if there are any lulls in the matches). So an example is:

Z00lu
Sweeper/midfield
Hogsticker
Accelerato

Positions explained:
Defender - a goalie of sorts who spends most time as the backline in defence
Sweeper - supports the Defender while taking the ball into attack from defence
Midfielder - lurks in the midfield going both ways to support defence and look for opportunities to setup shots or take them
Striker - name says it all, attack attack attack

Good luck!
