[Forza Motorsport] Number Boxes and CANZ Vinyls
Posted by: Scav3nger - 02-18-2016, 02:07 PM - Forum: CANZ News - Replies (4)

Hey guys,

This thread is for the purpose of outlining the Forza number boxes for CANZ regulated series. If you are running in a CANZ series on Forza, these are required. Positioning may be overridden by series organisers, but in the event they are not, all positions offered in this thread MUST be adhered to (there are a few options), car regulation penalties may apply if positioned incorrectly.

Acquiring the Number Boxes:

You can acquire the number boxes simply by searching for the creator, which is me (Scav3nger), I haven't made much so CANZ related material should be easy to find in my creations. Alternatively you can search for the keyword "CANZ" and it should return the following:

A monotone logo is included should you wish to rock the CANZ logo anywhere on your vehicle, and it's also easy to trace should you need to copy it for design sharing. I have no need for the credits and would give it away (unlocked) for free if I could so trace away!

Positioning the box(es):

When it comes to positions for the number boxes, you have three options though they don't have to be 100% adhered to. The small box under the wing mirror or on the front of the forward-most door, the small box at the front of the rear-most door, or using the large number box at the front of the forward-most door. Some series may support less positions and would be factored into in the specific regulations. Here's a sample on a V8 Supercar:

On the top-side you may position your numberbox rearwards of the top, or on the hood (size is optional but not much smaller than pictured to keep it readible at a distance)

When using the large number box, you may use any colour for the number(s) provided it is easily readible (please, no fluro green or patterns/fill, gradients are allowed provided they are readible). For the smaller boxes, you may use white or yellow as pictured in the side view. With all number boxes you must use the box provided and not alter it in any way. This is a CANZ-wide requirement for consistent number box design across all cars. This is our promotional material, the only one we will ever force on our drivers, your coorporation in adhering to these requirements is appreciated.

Gamertag Plate:

The gamertag plate is back again to help set your name out from your outlandish liveries. Remember that your 'tag is required front and back, but the plate is not required unless it is deemed to be difficult to read your gamertag.

If you have any questions, post them up and happy painting!

As mentioned in Scav's game plan for 2016, Rocket League is a likely feature. After all it is a pretty awesome game!!

So just to start off, it would be great to get an idea of how many of us are going to purchase it in the next month or so once it is released in the coming weeks.

Post below if you are keen for this game and would like to see some game nights happening with it.

  The 2016 Gameplan
Posted by: Scav3nger - 02-14-2016, 02:25 PM - Forum: Administration News - Replies (4)

G'day everyone!

So we've been a bit quiet over the Christmas/New Year period, things never really picked up after we all went into food coma's and passed out drunk for New Years. I can't say that because we have underage members. Anyway, WE'RE BACK! AGAIN! So this is my post outlining my overall objectives I'd like to see us achieve as a group in 2016. I'm going to set these rather low for the most part, but there'll be a couple of big ones. There's a TL;DR list at the bottom if you don't want to read my waffle.

So my first objective is pretty straight forward. I'd like to see us get 50 active members on the forums. There's currently 19 registered at the time of posting this thread, so we're almost half way there in registered users. We just need some more activity! So get posting people! This is something I'm hoping will improve once our regular activities recommence, which also ties in to objective 2.

I'd like to see us return to have a full (16 player) lobby by the end of this season's racing. Either on Forza or Project CARS, doesn't matter, we've had it before when it was RGL and I believe we can get back there with a bit of effort on everyone's part. We need to make it a welcoming community with quality racing, so remember to keep it civil.

At the moment, it's not much of a secret that a heavily played game for us is GTA Online, I'm sure we've had (and will have) plenty of highlights, so my third objective is to get four social night highlight reels together for our upcoming YouTube channel. Funny moments, Screwed Moments (yes, they're back too), anything goes as long as you think it's highlights worthy! Also, objective four, everyone join the crew! We still have plenty of members listed as RGLA members who need to switch over to TSGC!

Some of you will be aware we are planning some episodic content of some variety, while things are still in the early stages at this point, I'm making it an objective to get a pilot episode or short film onto the YouTube channel before the year is out. We've got a few ideas so I'm sure we'll be able to get one of them done!

Another big one we really want to see happen is getting a Rocket League league up and running. Not sure how we'll go with this one but we're going to try since Forza removed soccer and we need a replacement!

A big plan for later in the year is looking more closely at establishing the Screwed Gamers Cricket Association and firing up the Crunch Time League on Don Bradman Cricket. We started a league a while back but never really got 100% into it because we started at the tail end of the cricket season. Not this year though!

Lastly, and the only reason I put this last is because I'm not particularly big on FIFA (I only get it every second year), we're going to look into the possibilities of getting a Screwed League up and running on FIFA. The full details won't be available for a while, this is just a rough plan at the moment, pending interest levels.

TL;DR?

Get 50 active members onto the forums
Get a "full" lobby of drivers by season's end (read: 16 drivers)
Make four GTA social night highlight reels
Get all former RGLA crew members into TSG crew (it's TheScrewedGamersCrew in-game in case you were wondering)
Make one GTA short film/episodic pilot
Rocket League League
Form the Screwed Gamers Cricket Association and start the Crunch Time League (on Don Bradman Cricket)
Form the S-League (on FIFA)
Content, content, content! Videos, articles, livesteams! ALL THE THINGS!

Other things on the horizon as potential objectives depending on how we track with the above include:
Getting 100 members
Growing the community to PC and PS4 players, broaden our genre base from racing and sports games
Content, content, content! Videos, articles, livesteams! ALL THE THINGS! (it's worth mentioning twice)

Halo Forge Maps and Game types
Posted by: z00lu - 01-18-2016, 12:58 PM - Forum: FPS and Shooters - Replies (2)

After playing a style of Sumo wrestling with Mongooses and Warthogs on Halo 5 (thanks to Mr Cat), I thought it would be great to have a central place to collate all the different game types and maps that are worth getting on Halo. So if you come across an awesome map for multiplayer, or unique and fun game types (e.g. Sumo wrestling on warthogs) then post below and a few of us admins can add the best ones to the OP to make it easier for people to check them out!

PS. Add as much info as possible to make it easier to search for them when in Halo. I have edited this post from a Halo 5 focus to Halo in general, so as to include the Master Chief Collection and Halo Reach (although Halo Reach is supposed to be included in the MCC in the near future). So anything Halo that is a bit different to the usual game modes and online multiplayer match making.

  The Track Day Mini Games
Posted by: Scav3nger - 01-11-2016, 01:15 PM - Forum: Social Nights and One-off Events - Replies (1)

The purpose of this thread will be to keep track of our mini games that we play during track days and other social events.

Roster last updated: 11/01/16

Nail the Apex:
In "Nail the Apex" drivers take turns attempting to thread the needle between two cars on the apex of a corner. Each time Nail the Apex is run a different corner is used to keep the challenge fresh. Cars making the "barriers" must leave approximately a car's length between each vehicle to allow a space wide enough for a car to fit through.

Reverse Challenge:
Anyone can drive a car forwards, but how do you go driving in reverse? Find out with the reverse challenge. A random car is selected (a stock vehicle so an unowned vehicle can be picked) along with a random circuit. Vehicles must be travelling in reverse at all times.

The Tumble Dryer:
Mixing things up a little bit, the tumble dryer sees drivers travelling both clockwise and counterclockwise on a circuit on alternating laps. The race starts with drivers travelling the alternate direction to the circuit for one lap, then travelling the pit lane and completing two laps, they must then enter the pit lane again, and on exit run the alternate layout for another lap. Repeating the process until the laps are reached.

Hadron Collider:
In Hadron Collider teams take turns running laps of an oval circuit to a time limit (default: 10 minutes) with best distance scoring. It is the opposing teams mission to run the opposite direction and stop the forward running team from reaching an unchasable distance. In the second round, roles are reversed, and the team which set the distance must now defend it and stop the opposition from travelling further. Best played with A or S class vehicles.

The Powerslide Park:
Two cars leave a parking space just wide enough for you to fit your car into, can you powerslide into the position?
